SEN Teaching Assistant – Alternative Provision (SE27)
Location: SE27, South London
Start Date: ASAP
Contract: Full-Time, Term-Time

We are seeking a resilient, experienced, and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join an Alternative Provision setting in SE27. This role involves supporting pupils across KS1 to KS4 with SEMH needs and challenging behaviour, helping them re-engage with learning in a structured and supportive environment.

The Role:

• Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEMH and additional needs
• Support pupils across KS1–KS4 within an Alternative Provision setting
• Implement strategies to manage and de-escalate challenging behaviour
• Work closely with teachers and pastoral teams to support learning and engagement
• Deliver tailored interventions to support emotional regulation and social development
• Help pupils access learning in a way that meets their individual needs
• Promote positive behaviour, resilience, and independence

What We’re Looking For:

• Experience supporting pupils with SEN and challenging behaviour
• Previous experience in primary or secondary school settings (essential)
• Experience working with SEMH needs strongly preferred
• Calm, patient, and resilient approach
• Strong behaviour management skills and ability to build positive relationships
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
