A welcoming school in Slough is seeking an experienced and organised SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) to join their team on a maternity cover basis starting after the Easter half term. This is a key leadership role, ideal for someone passionate about driving inclusive practice and supporting pupils with additional needs.
About the Role
As SENCO, you will:

Lead and manage the school’s SEN provision in line with statutory requirements
*
Oversee and coordinate EHCPs, reviews, and SEN support plans
*
Work closely with teachers to ensure high-quality, inclusive teaching and differentiation
*
Monitor the progress of pupils with SEN and implement targeted interventions
*
Liaise with parents, external agencies, and local authorities
*
Support and train staff on SEN strategies and best practices
*
Ensure compliance with the SEND Code of Practice
Requirements
*
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential
*
NPQ SENCO qualification – essential
*
Proven experience working as a SENCO or in a senior SEN role
*
Strong knowledge of EHCP processes and SEN legislation
*
Excellent leadership, organisation, and communication skills
*
Ability to work collaboratively with staff, families, and external professionals
*
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
