Rotating 6am - 2pm, 2pm - 10pm and 10pm - 6am
Salary starting £51,000 per annum
Our Blackburn based manufacturing client are currently hiring for an experienced Shift Manager to join their team on a full time, permanent basis.
The Shift Manager is responsible for coordinating operational resources (machines, materials, people and out of hours engineering) in order to achieve planned/ targets for production output, product quality, BRC requirements, environment and health & safety.
Role responsibilities
* Accident and incident investigations, being a proactive leader of behavioural safety
* Liaise with Quality departments in relation to complains / internal issues.
* Ensure staff understand importance of cost of quality and hygiene
* Provide leadership to the shift team/supervisors, appropriate deployment of resources in accordance with production priorities
* Complete 1:1's, appraisals and team meetings in a timely manner
* Day to day responsibility for the welfare of all shop floor personnel
* Attendance management, completing return to work documents, disciplinary and grievance hearings
* Delivery of the production plan in a timely manner
Skills and experience
* Experience of leading a production team, ideally within manufacturing.
* Be able to identify and resolve basic machine related problems.
* Demonstrate being H&S competent in a safe working environment.
* Certificate in leadership management or previous engineering background - desirable
* IOSH or NEBOSH trained - desirable
