Apply NowCarmichael UK is working with a leading Tier 1 contractor delivering a major highways project in Gloucestershire. We are seeking an experienced Site Engineer to support the project, with a strong focus on site supervision and engineering documentation.
This role requires a minimum of 3 years’ experience working with piling and FRC (fibre reinforced concrete), which is essential.
The Role
You will work closely with the site management team to ensure works are delivered safely, in line with programme, and fully compliant with specifications and standards. The position is focused on paperwork, inspections, and supervision, rather than setting out.
Key Responsibilities
Provide day-to-day site supervision of highways and structural works
Manage and complete engineering paperwork, including ITPs, check sheets, permits, and quality records
Oversee and inspect piling operations and FRC works, ensuring compliance with specifications
Ensure works are delivered in line with drawings, RAMS, and programme
Support health & safety compliance, audits, and site inspections
Liaise with subcontractors, engineers, and site management
Assist with as-built records, quality assurance, and defect management
About You
Proven experience as a Site Engineer on highways or major infrastructure projects
Minimum 3 years’ hands-on experience with piling and FRC works (essential)
Strong background in site supervision and quality documentation
Experience working for a Tier 1 main contractor
Good understanding of highways and structural specifications
CSCS card (essential), SMSTS desirable
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
