Site Manager – Industrial Project (Bradford)

Overview

A contractor requires an experienced Site Manager for a 10–12 week industrial project in Bradford. The works involve mechanical breakout and renewal of existing external concrete slab areas within a live, high‑risk industrial environment.

This role demands strong leadership, excellent communication skills, and the ability to coordinate a small team while maintaining strict safety and compliance standards.

Only candidates with proven experience managing works in chemical plants, COMAH sites, or similarly high‑risk industrial facilities will be considered.

Key Responsibilities

Manage day‑to‑day site operations for concrete slab breakout and renewal works.

Supervise and coordinate a team of 4 operatives, ensuring safe and productive working practices.

Plan work fronts, allocate labour, and ensure operatives are set to work correctly.

Maintain accurate site records including daily diaries, permits, inductions, and H&S documentation.

Oversee mechanical breakout activities, ensuring safe use of plant, tools, and equipment.

Manage concrete renewal works including preparation, reinforcement, pouring, finishing, curing, and protection.

Ensure compliance with all site safety rules, permit‑to‑work systems, and industrial‑site protocols.

Conduct daily briefings, toolbox talks, and enforce RAMS at all times.

Liaise professionally with internal teams and client representatives.

Maintain high standards of housekeeping and site organisation.

Requirements

SMSTS – essential

NVQ Level 6 – essential

3‑Day First Aid – essential

Experience managing works in chemical plants, COMAH sites, or high‑risk industrial environments

Strong communication and leadership skills

Ability to plan ahead and maintain accurate records

Solid understanding of health & safety legislation and permit‑to‑work systems

Additional Information

Paid for 42 hours per week

Hourly rate dependent on experience and qualifications

No car allowance or mileage provided
