Special Needs Teaching Assistant – Watford

We are looking for dedicated Special Needs Teaching Assistants to work across a range of primary and secondary schools in Watford. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with experience supporting children with special educational needs who are looking to make a positive impact in the classroom.

As a Special Needs Teaching Assistant, you will support pupils with a variety of additional needs, helping them access learning, build confidence and develop independence. You will work closely with teachers and other support staff to create a positive and inclusive learning environment where every pupil has the opportunity to succeed.

Requirements

* Previous UK-based experience supporting children with special educational needs is essential.

* A caring, patient and adaptable approach.

* A commitment to supporting pupils' learning, wellbeing and development.

* Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

* The ability to build positive relationships with pupils, colleagues and families.

* Confidence in adapting your approach to meet the individual needs of each pupil.

Key Responsibilities

* Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with special educational needs.

* Work alongside teachers and support staff to deliver tailored learning activities.

* Support individual learning and behaviour plans.

* Encourage pupils' social, emotional and academic development.

* Help maintain a positive, structured and inclusive classroom environment.

* Promote independence, confidence and engagement with learning.

* Adapt activities to ensure all pupils can access the curriculum.
