SPEN Authorised Site Supervisor – Substations
Role Overview
Our Client is seeking an experienced SPEN Authorised Site Supervisor to oversee substation projects, ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant site operations.
This role is suited to a professional with a strong supervisory background in a non-working (management) capacity, combined with solid civil engineering experience.
Key Responsibilities
· Supervise and coordinate all site activities on substation projects
· Ensure full compliance with SPEN regulations, health & safety standards, and company procedures
· Manage subcontractors, operatives, and site personnel effectively
· Conduct site inspections, risk assessments, and method statement reviews (RAMS)
· Monitor project progress, quality, and timelines
· Liaise with project managers, engineers, and stakeholders
· Maintain accurate site records and reports
· Ensure works are carried out safely, on time, and within scope
Requirements
· SPEN Authorisation (essential)
· Valid CSCS Card
· SMSTS or SSSTS certification
· Proven experience in a site supervisory role (non-working)
· Strong background in civil engineering works (preferred over purely electrical/mechanical)
· Experience working on substation or infrastructure projects
· Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills
· Strong understanding of health & safety regulations
Desirable
· Previous experience on energy or utilities projects
· First Aid qualification
· Temporary Works or other relevant site certifications
