Support Worker Wanted
Location: Earley
Days/Hours: Weekdays and Weekends, variable hours between 9am-5pm
Hourly Pay: £13
We are looking for a kind, patient, and motivated Support Worker to work 1:1 with a male client who has a learning disability, dyspraxia, dyslexia, and anxiety. This is a rewarding opportunity to support someone in building confidence, independence, and life skills in a safe and understanding environment. The client has a young son who is also neurodivergent, who he has on the weekends and during the school holidays, so the client will require support with safely parenting his son independently.
About the Role:
As a Support Worker, you will:
* Provide consistent emotional reassurance to reduce anxiety
* Assist with planning and preparing meals as well as food shopping
* Assisting with looking after my home like cleaning
* Encourage engagement in meaningful daily activities
* Support community access and confidence-building
Days supporting the client and his son, you will:
* Support with drop off and pick up from the client’s son’s mother’s house
* Assisting with supporting the client and his son with activities like swimming, soft play, park etc
* Need to communicate effectively and clear
Ideal Candidate:
* Understanding of learning disabilities and neurodivergent needs
* Calm, clear communicator with a positive attitude
* Experience with anxiety support and structured routines
* Able to promote autonomy while offering appropriate support
* Driver with your own car on days supporting the client and his son
