Teaching Assistant – Primary School (Cardiff)
Location: Cardiff
Pay: £92.63 per day
Start Date: May 2026
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm

Teaching Personnel is currently recruiting a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in central Cardiff. This is a full-time position within a Key Stage 2 class, including providing 1:1 support for a pupil with additional learning needs.

This role is ideal for someone confident working with children of varying abilities and committed to helping every child reach their full potential. You should also feel comfortable managing occasional challenging behaviour with patience and professionalism.

Key Responsibilities

Provide tailored 1:1 support for pupils with additional learning needs
Deliver targeted interventions to individuals and small groups
Support the class teacher in delivering engaging lessons
Maintain positive behaviour and effective classroom management

What We’re Looking For

A proactive, energetic, and positive attitude
Strong behaviour management skills
Experience working with children (in a school or childcare setting is desirable)
An Enhanced DBS check (child workforce) – we can assist with this
Registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC) – required in Wales

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
