Year 1 Teaching Assistant (1:1 SEN Support) – Chorley | September Start | Term Time Only

Location: Chorley, Lancashire
Position: Year 1 Teaching Assistant – 1:1 SEN Support
Salary: From £93 per day (PAYE)
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm (Term Time Only)
Start Date: September 2026

Are you an experienced Teaching Assistant, SEN Support Worker, or Care Professional looking to make a real difference in a child's educational journey?

We are recruiting for a dedicated Year 1 Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a pupil in a welcoming and inclusive mainstream primary school in Chorley.

The child is fully accessing the mainstream classroom, has excellent academic potential, and would benefit from a committed and nurturing professional who can provide consistent support and encouragement throughout the school day.

The Role

As a 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:

* Provide tailored support to a Year 1 pupil within the classroom environment.

* Encourage engagement, independence, and confidence in learning.

* Work closely with the class teacher and SENCo to deliver planned interventions and support strategies.

* Build positive relationships with the pupil, staff, and parents where appropriate.

* Help create an inclusive and supportive learning environment.

What We're Looking For

* Primary education or school settings

* Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)

* Residential care

* Support work

* Youth work

* Health and social care

* Behaviour support roles

To be successful, you will need:

* Experience supporting children or young people with additional needs.

* A patient, caring, and adaptable approach.

* Full UK Right to Work.

* An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
