This role presents an exciting opportunity for a Teaching Assistant to join a forward-thinking school in Willenhall that has a strong commitment to inclusion and student well-being. The school's SEN hub provides tailored support to children with special educational needs, and the successful candidate will support children in small groups across EYFS and KS1.

This role will allow the candidate to make a tangible difference in the lives of children with diverse learning needs, helping them to reach their full potential.

In this role, the Teaching Assistant will support children with a range of needs including autism, speech and language delays, and social-emotional challenges. The candidate will work in small groups of 6-8 pupils, providing focused interventions and working under the guidance of the SENCO.

Expectations of the Successful Candidate

Previous experience working with children with special educational needs, particularly in EYFS and KS1.

Ability to implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and support the delivery of specific interventions.

Experience in using communication aids, sensory activities, and other resources to support learning.

Strong understanding of how to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment.

Ability to build rapport with children who may find school challenging.

Collaborate effectively with the class teacher, SENCO, and parents to monitor pupil progress.

Patience, empathy, and flexibility to meet the diverse needs of students.

What is Required

Experience working with children with special educational needs (SEN).

A relevant qualification in support work or education (e.g. Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant).

Strong communication and team-working skills.

A proactive approach to supporting the emotional and social development of children.

Knowledge of strategies to manage challenging behavior in the classroom.
