Injection Moulding Tool Maintenance Technician
Location: United Kingdom

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Injection Moulding Tool Maintenance Technician to join a dynamic plastics manufacturing environment. This is a hands-on, technically focused role responsible for maintaining and optimising injection mould tools to ensure safe operation, exceptional product quality, and maximum production efficiency.

The successful candidate will play a critical role in supporting production reliability by ensuring mould tooling is maintained to the highest standard and by quickly resolving tooling-related issues that could impact performance.

Key Responsibilities

Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on injection mould tools to ensure reliability and performance

Strip, clean, inspect, repair, and reassemble mould tools to exacting standards

Diagnose and resolve tooling-related production issues to minimise downtime

Support tool changeovers and ensure tooling is production-ready

Maintain accurate maintenance records within the site maintenance system

Work in strict accordance with safe systems of work (SSOW) and established site procedures

Identify opportunities for tooling improvements that enhance performance and longevity

Skills & Experience

Essential

Proven experience in injection mould tool maintenance or toolmaking support

Strong mechanical aptitude with a deep understanding of mould tool construction and function

Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation

A proactive, problem-solving approach with a focus on quality and efficiency

Desirable

Formal qualification in toolmaking, mechanical engineering, or a related discipline

Experience working with glass-filled polymers or other high-wear materials

Knowledge of tooling improvements and preventative maintenance strategies
