Toolmaker
The successful Toolmaker will work on progression press tools and multislide tooling, supporting the manufacture, maintenance and development of precision tooling used in high‑volume production. This is a hands‑on role within a highly valued team, requiring a self‑motivated individual capable of working across multiple machines. Duties of Toolmaker:
* Manufacture, repair and maintain progression press tools and multislide tooling
* Work to tight tolerances using stainless, mild and carbon steels
* Operate a range of toolroom machinery
* Support tooling development and continuous improvement
* Assist with tool design where required
* Run/program wire eroders (advantageous but not essential)
Skills/attributes required by successful candidate for the role of Toolmaker:
* Proven experience as a Toolmaker within a press tool environment
* Strong knowledge of progression tooling and multislide machines
* Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks
* Competent across a range of toolroom machinery
* Experience with wire erosion – desirable
* Self‑motivated, flexible and able to work in a fast‑paced environment
Location: Redditch, Worcestershire
Hours of Work: Mon to Thurs 8 am – 5 pm, Fri 8 am – 1 pm (39 hours per week)
Salary: £17 to £20 per hour (dependent upon experience)
