Our client is looking to appoint a Traffic Orders and GIS Officer to support the preparation and management of permanent traffic orders and associated mapping systems. The role would suit someone with hands on experience in traffic orders or a candidate with a GIS background, ideally gained within a Highways or local authority environment, who has worked with relevant map based or parking systems.

Key Responsibilities

Writing, amending, and managing permanent Traffic Regulation Orders
Using map based systems to support traffic and parking schemes
Maintaining accurate records and spatial data linked to traffic orders
Supporting parking and traffic related adjudications where required
Working with internal teams to ensure compliance with statutory processes
Updating and managing data within traffic and parking software systems

Skills and Experience

Experience writing or managing permanent traffic orders, or a GIS background ideally within a Highways or local authority setting
Confident working with map based systems
Approximately 2 to 3 years' experience dealing with traffic orders, GIS, parking data, or similar systems
Experience with one or more of the following systems is desirable: ParkMap, AppyWay, StatMap, or other comparable map based software
Candidates are not expected to have experience in all systems listed
Experience supporting adjudications or knowledge of parking and traffic legislation would be beneficial but is not essential

Detail orientated and well organised
Comfortable working with technical systems and mapping data
Able to follow statutory processes and work to deadlines
Good communication skills and able to work collaboratively
