Careermakers Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Transport Planner on behalf of our client based in Astley, Manchester. This is a temp to perm opportunity with a well-established transport company operating a bulk haulage fleet.
This role would suit someone with route planning experience or someone with a strong interest in the transport and logistics industry who is looking to start a career in transport planning.
The Role
* Planning and allocating daily loads for a bulk haulage fleet
* Ensuring compliance with transport regulations and industry standards
* Supporting drivers with briefings, scheduling and general queries
* Liaising with customers to confirm delivery schedules and resolve issues
* Monitoring fleet utilisation and operational efficiency
* Working closely with workshop teams to ensure vehicles remain roadworthy and compliant
Shift Details
* Monday to Friday
* 40 hours per week
* Office based in Astley
Pay & Benefits
* £13 – £18 per hour during the temporary period, depending on experience
* Temp to perm opportunity
* Permanent salary between £25,000 – £35,000 per year, depending on experience
Requirements
* No previous transport planning experience necessary
* Genuine interest in transport and logistics
* Strong organisational and communication skills
* Good IT skills including Microsoft Office
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
