Apply NowWe are currently recruiting for a Tranport Planner for a 3 month period (potentially longer) based in the Swindon area.
About the Transport Planner role:
* Working hours are Monday to Friday, 8:30am-5pm (40 hours paid).
* Salary is £30K pro rata
* Temporary role - minimum 3 month period
* Based in Swindon (SN3)
* Immediate start
Duties & responsibilities for the Transport Planner role:
* Plan, optimise & communicate local and nationwide delivery routes for vehicles.
* Effectively plan loads to vehicles ensuring on-time deliveries.
* Ensure all routes are legally compliant in line with driver's hours legislation, working time directive and vehicle weight restrictions
* Ensure all operational goals are met whilst maintaining focus on customer requirements
* Communicate efficiently and effectively with both team members and other departments
Skills / Experience required for the Transport Planner role:
* Strong planning and organisational skills and the ability to manage a variety of tasks simultaneously
* Strong attention to detail
* A good goegraphical knowledge is essential
* Excellent communication skilss
* Previous experience of working in a planning or similar role is required
* A good understanding of driver's hours would be beneficial
* Good IT knowledge to include Microsoft Excel, Word etc
