Triage Repairs Surveyor
This role has been created to improve the efficiency and accuracy of repair diagnosis, ensuring that jobs are correctly directed either to a contractor or for further inspection. The successful candidates will play a key role in improving right-first-time performance and reducing unnecessary property visits.
Responsibilities:
Triage incoming repair queries from the call centre and email requests
Assess reported issues (e.g. plumbing faults, general maintenance) and determine the appropriate response
Decide whether repairs can be raised directly to the contractor or require a pre-inspection
Provide clear and accurate technical guidance to support efficient job allocation
Reduce unnecessary inspections while ensuring quality and compliance is maintained
Support improvements in responsive repairs performance and service deliveryRequirements:
Proven experience as a Surveyor, Repairs Surveyor, or Senior Repairs Officer within social housing
Strong understanding of responsive repairs processes and common building maintenance issues
Ability to diagnose repair issues remotely based on limited information
Confident decision-making skills with sound technical judgement
Strong communication skills and ability to work closely with call centres and operational teams
