Location: Outskirts of Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk
Salary: £14.50 – £15.80 per hour (£30,160 – £32,864 per annum DOE)
Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm (1-hour unpaid lunch break), with overtime available
Contract: Full Time, Permanent

Our client, a well-established family-run engineering manufacturer based on the outskirts of Bury St Edmunds, is looking to recruit an experienced Welder / Fabricator to join their growing team on a permanent basis.

Duties will include:

* MIG welding and fabricating a range of steel components and assemblies.

* Working with materials ranging from 1.5mm sheet metal through to heavy gauge box section and plate.

* Reading and interpreting engineering drawings to produce accurate fabrications.

* Producing high-quality welds in line with company quality standards.

* Using a variety of fabrication tools and workshop equipment.

* Working closely with the production team to achieve daily and weekly manufacturing targets.

* Carrying out quality checks to ensure all finished work meets specification.

* Maintaining a clean, safe and organised working environment.

* Following all Health & Safety procedures and company policies.

The ideal candidate will have:

* Previous MIG welding and fabrication experience within a manufacturing or engineering environment.

* The ability to produce clean, consistent welds on materials ranging from 1.5mm to 20mm.

* Experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings.

* Good fabrication skills and the ability to work accurately with minimal supervision.

* A strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality workmanship.

* A positive attitude with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

* TIG welding experience would be advantageous but is not essential.
