A Yard Person / Site Engineer is required to join a Ground Investigation contractor to work on a permanent role in Manchester. You will be combining yard management with site engineering and monitoring duties to support the companies operations in Manchester.
Responsibilities
Managing and maintaining a safe, tidy yard and stores, including equipment, consumables, and samples
Preparing, loading, transporting, and returning site equipment and materials
Receiving, logging, storing, segregating, and disposing of soil and rock samples
Providing site engineering support, including in‑situ testing (e.g. soakaway, permeability, DCP)
Undertaking gas and groundwater monitoring and sampling
Carrying out site walkovers to support Phase 1 Desk Studies
Assisting with stock control, compliance, and mentoring junior staffRequirements:
Full UK manual driving licence
CSCS card
Willing to work between yard, office, sites, and laboratories
Strong organisation, communication, and health & safety awareness
