Yard Person

Our client is looking for a temp to perm Yard Person, responsible for the yard and associated factory receivables areas to ensure all spaces are tidy, free from hazards, and in safe working order. Additionally this role is responsible for the goods out and in, including packing, storing, loading and unloading of deliveries and all associated documentation.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
* Own and manage the workload within the Yard by being aware of all deliveries, collections and packing requirements and plan and prioritise these tasks accordingly.
* Ensure all products are packed safely and securely.
* Safely loading and unloading of deliveries, using forklifts or other safe and appropriate unloading methods.
* Undertake daily Forklift inspections to ensure equipment is safe to use and maintenance requirements are reported to the Factory Manager.
* Use of computer software, and allocated tablet/pc to track goods in and out and all audit requirements.
* Maintain stock levels of packing materials and replenish as necessary
* Conduct thorough quality inspections for goods in and out and immediately report any issues or defects.
Key Skills, Experience and Competencies
* Self-motivated.
* Experienced loading and unloading delivery vehicles in a safe, compliant and timely manner.
* Safety focussed with previous experience working within health and safety regulations.
* Ability to consistently follow and understand instructions.
* Forklift licence – Counterbalance and Reach forklift licences must be obtained (training can be provided, but advantageous if already held)
