Bright Young Futures is a growing residential childcare provider dedicated to supporting children and young people aged 8–17 years to achieve positive outcomes and reach their full potential. We currently operate a successful and well-established home in the Ilford area and are excited to be expanding with a newly registered home.

We are seeking a compassionate, resilient, and motivated Young People's Support Worker to join our dedicated team. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young people while developing your career within a supportive and professional environment.

Working Hours:

This is a full-time, shift-based role working on a rolling rota across Monday to Sunday.

* Day Shifts: 8:00am – 8:30pm

* Waking Night Shifts: 8:00pm – 8:30am

The Role:

As a Young People's Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to young people living within our residential home. You will help create a safe, nurturing, and structured environment that promotes independence, personal growth, and positive life outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

* Support young people with daily living activities, routines, and personal development.

* Build professional, trusting relationships and act as a positive role model.

* Encourage education, life skills, independence, and positive behaviour.

* Provide emotional and practical support tailored to individual needs.

* Work collaboratively with social workers, families, schools, and other professionals.

* Contribute to care plans, risk assessments, and individual development goals.

* Maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation.

* Ensure the home remains safe, clean, and welcoming.

* Promote safeguarding and make informed decisions to protect young people.

* Work effectively as part of a team to deliver consistent, person-centred care.

Essential Requirements:

* Minimum 1 year's experience working with children or young people aged 8–17 in a care, support, youth work, residential, or educational setting.

* Ability to engage, support, and build positive relationships with young people.

* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

* Experience supporting emotional and behavioural development.

* Strong understanding of safeguarding responsibilities.

* Reliable, professional, and committed to delivering high standards of care.

Desirable Requirements:

* Previous experience within a residential childcare setting.

* Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent qualification).

* Knowledge of challenging behaviour and trauma-informed approaches.

* Understanding of youth development and therapeutic support practices.

* Experience working within an Ofsted-regulated environment.
