We are currently partnering with a public sector organisation to appoint an Interim Building Surveyor to support a busy property and asset management team.

Key Responsibilities:

* Undertake condition, stock, and defect surveys across a varied portfolio

* Manage planned maintenance and capital works programmes

* Act as Contract Administrator / Employer’s Agent

* Ensure compliance with statutory requirements (H&S, Building Regulations, Housing Standards)

* Prepare specifications, schedules of works, and tender documentation

* Manage contractors and provide technical advice to internal stakeholders

About You:

* Proven experience working as a Building Surveyor within the public sector (Council or Housing Association)

* Strong knowledge of maintenance, compliance, and asset management

* Able to operate autonomously in an interim environment

* Professional qualification (RICS or working towards) desirable

This role would suit an experienced interim Building Surveyor available at short notice and comfortable working in fast‑paced public sector settings
