Senior Site Manager
The site consists of 30 units built with both core frame and specially commissioned lightweight steel frame. The project is currently in enabling works stage so a great opportunity to to control a project from its early stages of conception.
Being a Regional size Developer this is an important role and you will be number 1 on Site, responsible for an Assistant Site Manager and working in partnership with a QS in addition to a large number of sub contractors.
This Developer has an excellent setup and good relations with all the sub-contractors, the ideal candidate will need to have a partnering mindset that is consultative and understanding to get the best from the workforce and in addition have an excellent eye for and be able comprehend a high level of detail line board reporting.
Here’s a clear breakdown of the key duties:
1. Daily Site Operations

Manage all on-site construction activities
*
Supervise tradespeople, subcontractors, and labourers
*
Ensure work is progressing according to the build programme
*
Organise daily tasks and site logistics
2. Health & Safety Management
*
Enforce health and safety regulations and site rules
*
Conduct site inductions and toolbox talks
*
Ensure proper use of PPE (personal protective equipment)
*
Identify and manage hazards and risks
*
3. Quality Control
*
Monitor workmanship and ensure it meets required standards
*
Inspect materials and construction methods
*
Carry out snagging and ensure defects are corrected
*
Ensure compliance with drawings and specifications
4. Workforce Supervision
*
Allocate tasks to workers and subcontractors
*
Monitor productivity and performance
*
Resolve on-site disputes or issues
*
Ensure sufficient staffing levels for each phase
5. Coordination of Trades & Materials
*
Schedule and coordinate different trades (e.g. electricians, plumbers, bricklayers)
*
Ensure materials and equipment are delivered on time
*
Track daily and weekly progress against the programme
*
Report updates to the project manager
7. Compliance & Regulations
*
Ensure work complies with building regulations and standards
*
Coordinate inspections with building control officers
*
Maintain site records and documentation
8. Problem Solving
*
Address on-site challenges (weather delays, design issues, shortages)
*
Make quick decisions to keep the project moving
*
Escalate major issues to senior management when needed
9. Site Security & Organisation
*
Maintain a clean, organised, and secure site
*
Control access to the site
*
Ensure proper storage of materials and equipment
